I hated team sports as a kid for one simple reason: I was terrible. My hand-eye co-ordination was pretty much non-existent, so I spent my PE lessons running in the opposite direction from the ball, praying to God it wouldn’t enter into my vicinity. Unfortunately, this didn’t leave me with a great understanding of any sporting game, nor the confidence or ability to play one.

However, as I got older I saw people around me fully enjoying the experience of belonging to a sporting team. It looked great: social, fun, active! I decided I wanted in. The only problem was, I was still a complete novice with the same abysmal ball skills. But that was not going to stop me.

Back to Netball‘ and ‘Back to Hockey‘ are initiatives set up all over the country for anyone over the age of 16. They are designed to get complete beginners and people who’ve been away from the game for a long time back into sport. There’s no performance pressure, and no judgement – so anyone can pick up a new skill, make new friends, and get fit! Sessions are pay-as-you-go, and it doesn’t matter if you miss any, or join half way through.

So what are you waiting for? Click on the above links and find a session near you!!!
